Mein Deutsch ist nicht so zehr gut, also Ich vird in English andworten:

I have read a number of your LCD questions, and having done a bit of searching
myself, have the following suggestions/information:

Use one of the standard modules (83x18.6mm glass area, most are using HD44780
controller):
Stanley GMD2020A
Epson EA-D20025AR HD44780?
Seiko Instruments (SII) L2012
Hitachi LM032L
Optrex DMC20215 or DMC20261
Lucky/Goldstar LC20201TA 88.2x20mm, controller unknown, possibly HD44780
Sharp LM20A21 or LM20X21A

These modules can be found in California for about USD$10.00 each.

If the equipment you are repairing is written to use the -A67 version of the
controller, consider using a PIC microprocessor (20 pins) with a 20..100 line
program to translate the data to a new character set, and map unavailable
characters to the user definable RAM character generator on the fly.

About the HD44780U device:
The A00 version is standard ASCII 20..127, plus Kanji
The A01 version has IBM PC accent table at 128..159 plus kanji
The A02 version has greek and cyrillic in 128..159; 160..191 are misc (C), etc;
and 192..255 are accented characters.
The A67 version must be custom?
All versions in the catalog support 8 programmable characters.

Sorry, no info on Vikay LCD's.
