Second European Workshop on Planning (EWSP'93)
Dec. 9-11, 1993, near Linkoping, Sweden
Call for Papers
There are many research groups working on AI planning and related
topics all over Europe. The workshop is primarily intended to
strengthen the connections between these groups and to provide a forum
for the exchange of ideas and results. It is also intended to act as
a complement to the American planning workshops arranged by DARPA,
AAAI etc. However, submissions from non-European countries are also
welcome. The first European Workshop on Planning (EWSP'91) took place
in St. Augustin, Germany in March 1991. Although there is a newly
established international conference on AI planning systems, there is
still a need for a European workshop on this subject.
Workshop details:
-----------------
Participation will be by invitation only and the number of participants
will be limited to a maximum of approx. 75 persons. The plan is to
publish the workshop proceedings at an international publishing house
shortly after the workshop. The workshop is planned to take place at
a conference hotel in the neighbourhood of Linkoping, Sweden (the exact
location is not yet decided).
Submissions and participation:
------------------------------
Original papers in English are invited in all areas of AI planning and
related topics. Areas include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Classical AI planning
- Planning for concurrent actions
- Prediction and plan validation
- Planning under uncertainty
- Planning and knowledge
- Scheduling
- Decision-theoretic planning
- Multi-agent planning
- Reactive systems
Papers are welcome in the whole spectrum from practical and applied
research to theoretical research and we especially welcome papers
combining these aspects.
Papers should be written in 12pt type, using high-quality printers
(exceptions will be made for countries where such printers are not
widely available), on A4 paper (or similar format, if A4 papers are
not available). Papers should have a front page containing: title;
name, full address, email address and fax # (if available) for all
authors; keywords and a 100-200 word abstract. Papers must not exceed
12 pages, excluding front page and references. Five (5) hardcopies of
papers must reach the programme chairman not later than June 1st,
1993. Notification of acceptance/rejection will be mailed to the
first (or designated) author of each paper by Oct. 10, 1993.
Camera-Ready versions of accepted papers are due Nov. 5, 1993.
Accepted papers must be presented at the workshop, in English by one
of the authors.
Paper submissions should be accompanied with a letter stating whether
the authors want to attend the workshop also in the case of rejection
of their paper. Applicants wishing to participate but not submit a
paper should submit a 1-2 page summary of their research interests,
including references.
