Just go back to the context! 9/11 stinks, of course, and though we
know the official report does not stack up, it was controlled
demolition, etc., etc., we have no smoking gun, only, until relatively
recently, smoking and toxic piles of rubble. It may have been a false
flag op to justify continuing intervention in the ME, and, though that
is mostly conjecture, it is possible.

It is a good question, why, having supported Saadam and his henchmen,
who treated their own people like dirt, the USA, almost overnight,
turned against him, invaded - with a program for instant democracy. Ho
hum. There may be other explanations, though!

As to the Palestinians, I have, out of my own pocket, paid for quite a
few of them to study in London. The way out is education, and
education takes time: it is not a matter of guns and gates, but the
creation of a strong and secure middle class culture, immune, as much
as possible, to violent swings.

And Israel? A mixed bag, to be sure, but it is pluralist and
multidimensional, with more parties than there are persons, and
whatever your grievance, you will find that lots of people are ready
with all sorts of ideas and solutions.

If we could tow Israel away from Palestine (gwin) or Palestine away
from ISRAEL (gwin), all the problems would be solved. Diplomacy is,
however, just that: metaphorical transformational topography, at least
as regards hot spots! [Sorry,Occidental!]

Rationally, Palestine needs the opportunities in employment and
education; Israel needs the workforce, but nothing can be solved
'while the war drags on and on' [The Stones on Northern Ireland]'.
