O C T O B E R G E N E R A L M E E T I N G ------------------------------------------------- "A Home PC in 1966, Britain's Forgotten Legacy" All members are invited to attend the October Meeting of the ACMS to be held on Sunday, 12th October, 1997 from 1:30 pm at CAFE 29, at 29 Rochester Street, Homebush. Agenda: Executive Reports General Business Future Events Then, our guest SPEAKER for the month.. Our Secretary, Michael Chevallier, has been researching various early affordable (by whom?) items of computing equipment for some time now. Mike recently visited the United Kingdom and visited the historic World War II site at Bletchley Park. Mike has offered to tell us all about what might have been in 1966. Was it a miniature version of a code-breaking machine ? Was it a transistorised version of a Digital PDP-8 ? These and other questions will be answered in full. Mike has some interesting photographs as well from the current restoration work being done at Bletchley Park. AFTERNOON TEA will be served with COFFEE and cakes. -- Regards, John G.
