Announcing the 1992 DECUS Brisbane and Adelaide Workshops
        ---------------------------------------------------------

This February, DECUS will once again be running two workshops. The first
will be in Brisbane on the 7-9 February; the second will be in Adelaide
on the 14-16 February.

The workshops are smaller and less formal (and also less expensive) than
the symposium, while they offer excellent technical presentations and
the opportunity for hands-on experience in the latest hardware and
software.

Workshops are very interactive, with both user and Digital papers,
practical workshops and demonstrated tutorials. They are an ideal way to
gain essential information, experience and contacts and to share
expertise.

The Brisbane Workshop
---------------------
This workshop will be held at the University of Queensland over the
weekend of 8-9 February, 1992. The theme of the workshop is "Networking
in the 90s" and we are organising as many hands-on workshop sessions as
possible.

The Adelaide Workshop
---------------------
Adelaide will host its second workshop at the University of South
Australia, North Terrace campus over the weekend of 14-16 February,
1992.

On going to press, specific program details are not available. These
will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned for further announcements.

Call for Participation
----------------------
Any suggestions for topics and/or presenters are most welcome; please
indicate these on the following Workshop Survey Form. This feedback
enables us to plan even more successful workshops!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PRESENTERS - of papers, workshops and tutorials and
for participants for Q/A panels. If you (or anybody you know) are
interested, please either fill out the attached Call for Participation
Form or inform a Workshop Committee member (or both!).

For each DECUS Workshop, the organising committee will award a Best
Paper Prize - a FREE registration to the 1992 DECUS Australia Symposium.

The Workshops
-------------
Sessions will include a stream (or two, or three) of papers presented by
both Digital experts and users. Workshops and tutorials will also be run
- these are practical sessions where participants gain hands-on
experience on various hardware and software.

As in previous years, each Workshop begins on the Friday evening (7
February for Brisbane; 14 February for Adelaide) with registration, BBQ
and a cash bar. Papers and workshops run in parallel on Saturday (9am to
6pm) and Sunday (9am to 4pm). A formal dinner is arranged for the
Saturday night. (Morning and afternoon teas, lunches and the formal
dinner are included in the registration fee.)
