I am desperately seeking an engineer who might be able to service my
DEST PC Scan 3000 greyscale flatbed scanner. Since moving it across
the room a week ago, the scanner flashes yellow and green LEDs at me
when powered on and connected to its SCSI card. When not connected
to its card it seems to go through its diagnositics OK.. Inside it
shows a C in its LED. Manual says (go find an engineer, possible
component failure). This tarted after I plugged it into my SCSI-2
card's cable. When connected to other SCSI cards, and when running
COREL software, the scanner is seen (when I set the ID on the back
from 7 to 3), and I don't get the error message - but it won't
download its driver - I suspct it will work only with its own card.
Only part on the PCB which looks like it is removable is the two
EPROMs and a peculiar resistor like thing which is something resembling
an earwig perched on two little poles!
_____######_____
If you think you might know anyone who might be able to help. please
let me know. (Puszzled why its only when its connected to its card that
this all starts happening - same happens if I shove a terminator on the
second SCSI port.

many thanks
