Since I run a mailing list, I regularly have a rather long To: line (or,
more accurately, rather a lot of lines in the .WRK file). When KA9Q sends
this mail, it reports all of the addresses, which is rather pointless.
Personally, I'd prefer to see KA9Q limit itself to (say) 2 lines, and
just stick "..." on the end if the limit is exceeded. How would others
feel?
It ought to be pretty easy to do; unfortunately I have never convinced
KA9Q to compile and run here, so I can't do it myself. If anyone has it
working under TC3.1 I'd love to hear from them....
Incidentally, there also ought not be any reason to load the whole .WRK
file into memory, which I suspect KA9Q does at present. This may be
harder to change, but would bring benefits in terms of memory
requirements. KA9Q only needs the first three lines to check that the
.WRK file is valid, and after that can just keep reading the lines as it
sends them. Or would the extra open file waste more memory than was saved
in general?
Mark.
