There's an ANSI implementation of KA9Q with version number 2.17. It is
based on Demon's "official" DOS version 2.16. It's primarily aimed at
OS/2 and offers some extra facilities (pull down menus, archie, gopher,
no memory problems). I don't know if the new DOS KA9Q v2.18 will be ANSI
C based or not - Malcolm is the only one who can give an authoritative
answer.

A recent discussion in demon.ip.developers concluded that moving to an
ANSI C source for KA9Q was a good thing, so I hope that it will happen one
day.
