Hi All, I am using CSWSOCK VBX for Visual Basic to write a News & MAil package. I have set up a socket to listen for Demons mail server to connect, to send any pending SMTP Messages. What happens is this. Demon Connects, I send greeting. Demon Sends MAIL FROM, I send the '250 OK' message Demon Sends RCPT TO, I send the '250 OK' if the recipient is correct. Demon Sends DATA, I send '354 Send Mail Body'. Demon then sends the message body. However, my routine keeps checking the right 5 characters for the terminating CR/LF.CR/LF, which never seems to come. Looking at a log file, it seems as if Demon is not sending the last CR/LF. Does anybody know whats happening? Also, I know you can finger <domain name>@post.demon.co.uk, to check for waiting mail. Is this a global facility (IE, will other mail servers have it), or is it just demon. If not, whats the best way to check for waiting mail? --- Cheers, Ben ------------------====### legal notice ###====----------------------- Microsoft Network is prohibited from redistributing this work in any form,in whole or in part.
