A few weeks ago, I saw a post on a Demon newsgroup (I forget 
which) asking if anyone knew of a program which could time 
internet connections. I have a program which launches Demon
software and times connections (amongst other things) which I
wrote some time ago for my own use, so I decided to rewrite
the program and release it as shareware. I now have a small
group of beta-testers ready to test my program. Aside from the
above, the program also acts as both a PIM and a program 
launcher for Windows (replacing ProgMan as the shell).

The purpose of this message is twofold:-

1) To see if anyone here would be interested in being a beta-
   tester for the program.
2) A request for help. I have never released shareware before, and 
   I wondered if anyone could point me to any information on the
   the subject - for instance, what newsgroups to post to in search
   of beta-testers or to announce the final release, what legal 
   disclaimers I should put in the documentation to protect myself, 
   what ftp sites to upload the program to, the best way to protect 
   unregistered versions of the programs against hackers and so on.

My apologies for both the length of this post and its possibly 
slightly off-topic nature - any help that anyone could give me
would be much appreciated!
