I was trolling through the source to slurp (thinking about using the NNTP "DATE" command to find out the current server time), and I found something that looks as if it will cause problems at the start of the year 2000. Although the time returned by "DATE" is "yyyymmsshhmmss", the timestamp given to "NEWNEWS" is in the form "yymmdd hhmmss". Oh dear! I then looked at the source to nnrpd, and that _insists_ on the date having two digits, and worse still, "00" will be 1900 :-( So, does anybody know if there are modifications planned to NNTP to allow a complete date to be specified? If there is a modification, does the NewsBorg implement it? -- `O O' | Home: Nick.Holloway@alfie.demon.co.uk // ^ \\ | Work: Nick.Holloway@parallax.co.uk http://www.parallax.co.uk/~alfie/
