Seconded. At home I use WinDIS as an SMTP/POP server and use Microsoft Exchange
for mail. Hence it would be very helpful to do this. Also, ideally while you're
at it you could kick outgoing mail (and news if enabled) if it detects a DUN
connection has been established. I'm assuming this is reasonably possible, but
I haven't been deeply into DUN programming.

At work we use WinDIS to transfer news and mail in a 'traditional' KA9Q-style
manner. I'm not sure if this has been fixed in 3.0, but certainly in older
versions of WinDIS, if the unbatch failed, the batch was removed anyway. I have
a feeling this is still the case, but I'm not sure. (How could the unbatch
fail? When someone was reading news and so had the active file locked.)

WinDIS also fell over on me last night: in the middle of a news download it
simply quit with no diagnostic or anything. This happened twice. On at least
one occasion, a piece of incoming mail was lost (leading me to suspect it
doesn't do a file commit and close on the mailbox file before reporting back
that the mail has been received correctly.)

However, for the most part it's a great package!

[One of these days I'm going to write a news server package which might
eventually live in WinDIS (if I can persuade Ewan/Colin), so I can use Netscape
2.0 or any other on-line reader for off-line reading. Of course, it'll use the
standard Demon files (and I wish the POP server did too...)]
