"make it harder.. other networks"? Shurely shome mishtake??

Demon have said in the past that they were keen to give as
well as take from the Internet. No idle words either, for
open news servers, ftp, etc have certainly been useful far
beyond just Demon customers. And I think it's an attitude
that has commercial value too -- no doubt many of us feel
comfortable buying from an organisation that isn't always
'grab grab grab'.

I think it's a little paranoid to suppose this was a deliberate
act to cripple the software. The built-in IP addr range sounds more
like the "seemed like a good idea at the time" school of design
to me. I have a diploma from there myself, so I won't knock it!

Hmmm. I'm still trying hard to believe that there is an
intent to release some or all of that source. I guess
things are a bit hectic at present with ftp.demon in
intensive care.

Can we at least have some indication on whether or when
we might get sight of some source?
