I looked, shuddered and moved on :( I can't believe that anybody would
work on it without being paid to do so and I still find it hard to see
what a front-end does with a date.

There are some gains to a packet driver if the compile is aimed at it.
Dropping the PPP/dialer and loading the driver high delivers a
significant gain in free memory and I'd have thought that as digital
channels proliferate, access via the packet interface would come into
it's own. It's easy to do if CIPA is typical of the software involved.

I've tried 2.1, but it (like the other DOS browsers) falls between two
stalls for me. It doesn't (do any ?) do SSL, so far as I can see, and
it's no better at basic page/file collection than what I have in YAN,
but then that's what I'm used to.

By the way, if you like GUIs, the Newdeal v3 suite has a browser and
PPP/dialer which work OK, even in the trial version.

Incidentally, has Lynx got persistent cookies yet ?
