No - I use Newsie - but I haven't altered my DEFAULT.GRP file (Newsie's
equivalent of NNTP.DAT).

To clarify - Demon have solved some problem or other they had with the
news servers, as announced in demon.announce, and this has resulted in
old messages appearing in all the newsgroups I receive. But whereas in
the other groups I've had messages from about 10 days ago, which didn't
reach the demon servers at the time - in this group I've had messages
from up to a month ago, most of which I've already received. I haven't
kept the old messages so I can't compare message numbers; but either
there's something wrong at Demon's end or the article number for this
newsgroup in my DEFAULT.GRP file somehow got reset. By asking if other
people have had the same thing, I'm trying to establish which.

NEWSwatch may be immune to the problem (if it is a Demon problem) since
IIRC it receives articles based on the date, rather than the article
number.
