I've just tried this and it works. Thanks Guy. I'm beginning to suspect when I
last tried (over a week ago), maybe it was actually a problem at Demon's end,
because it all works ok now (and's pretty quick) BUT:

I can no longer get NOS to drop the line. With non-Ascends I had to type
'ppp sl0 lcp close' (I have it on a fkey) then 'exit' to make NOS drop the
line. I believe this was only necessary on Falcons?
It works a treat on my old PoP but has no effect with the new Ascend. I end up
having to turn my modem off(not very satisfactory) :-(

p.s. I've also replaced the old name servers with the new ones mentioned in
demon.announce the other day, and they seem to work fine. :-)
Just thought I'd let anybody who was thinking of doing it know they work....
