I fnally got STiK and CAB working thanks to some advice from "phil@demon".
Following his advice I found that I couldn't use the short versions of the
strings login:, password: etc. I had to use the full string. The dial script
does not do partial string matches thus if your system picks up ogin: and
you've set the script to in: you'll not get a match but it can seem as though
you've properly logged on when you get to the end of the script. (at least
that's what was happening to me). You need to check what your system picks up. 
You can do this by logging on with a terminal program and see what's picked up.
Hope this is of some help.
BTW I noticed that when I thought I was logged on the sd & ld led's would flash
regularly even though nothing else was happening. I think this was down to the
systems continuing to try to establish a connection.
