Hi,

I am having problems making a PPP connection with some PoPs, especially my
local one in Blandford (01258) 398666. When I log in it justs returns to the
the 'NET>' prompt and does nothing. Other PoPs like Workington, 
Wolverhampston, and Wetherby work fine and retrieve the news/mail.

I am using Oasis 1.35E, with the standard DIAL.TXT and STARTUP.NOS files.

Is this problem because of the PPP bug in KA9Q which is mentioned when you
finger status@gate.demon.co.uk.

Is anyone else having the same problem on their local PoP and is there a way 
round it? A guy at demon support suggested that I add a 2 second delay after
the HELLO message, but this did not fix the problem.

Would it help if I configurated NOS to use slip instead of PPP?, if so 
does anyone know how to do this?
