No. What you are seeing is nothing to do with Outlook/Express - you are seeing the default search page for IE supplied by its maker (Microsoft), instead of the Demon search page. This is not really anything much to do with Turnpike, but personally I find all of these "search pages" a total waste of time. Why load up someone else's selection of search engines? My own preference is to use the IE power tools setting that allows you to go directly to your search engine of choice via a 2-letter code. In other words, type av music and alta-vista will be called up, already pre-loaded with all the hits on "music" and without having to go via a Demon or M$ search page en route. However, this is all really more of a topic for demon.ip.support.ie4 -- Paul Terry Thank you Terry. Well here I am where you suggested. I'll look into your suggestion re IE power tools - looks neat. Meanwhile my tinkering has got me the IE search page, which is pretty crummy, so where do I set things to get Demon's? I had an uneducated root around and can't find what, never mind where to put it. -- Mike Kingston

You can download a free copy of a multiple search engine from http://www.copernic.com You don't get the full version which has all sorts of sub categories but you do get the ability to search via approx 12 of the main search engines at the same time. The programme then summarises them into a list in priority order. Worth taking a look. John -- John Griffiths Baxenden, Lancs, http://www.baxlancs.demon.co.uk

I have an unbuggeredaboutwith Demon installation of IE4, and the search button insists on my being on line before it will display anything. Also there is no "search page" within TP (or IE). This suggests that if you really want the Demon collection of search engines, reinstall IE from a Demonised source. But as others have said it's better to build your own - my personally preferred method is to use Favourites and have therein a subdirectory of search engine URLs. -- Andy For Austrian philately <URL: http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk/austamps/> For Lupus <URL: http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk/lupus/> For my other interests <URL: http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk/>

See the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
Q171853 (Changing Search Pages Used by Internet Explorer 4.0):
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q171/8/53.asp
It will tell you that you will need to perform a registry edit to get
what you are after. The IE search settings are at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
For IE5, I have the following for search page:
http://www.demon.net/inews/search.html
and the following for search bar:
http://www.demon.net/cgi-bin/demon/ie5/search
I have a feeling that the IE4 version is
http://www.demon.net/cgi-bin/demonie4/search
If you don't fancy editing the Registry, then it might be worth trying
to re-install IE (preferably from a Turnpike installer).
