Yes, but I think that's only part of it.

OK, I've got some ideas now. I would like you to try thr following
(again, printing out is recommended.):
1] Quit Eudora.
2] Launch AddMail.
3] Pull down the "Users" menu. Drag down to the "Edit User" submenu
and select the user "bob". The "Edit User" dialog will open.
4] Click the "Set Drop File" button. A standard file dialog should
open. Using this dialog, navigate as follows. Go into your system
folder; next go into the "Preferences" folder; next go into the folder
called "AddMail Files"; now go into the folder called "Spool";
Finally, go into the folder called "Default Drop File Folder". Click
on the "New" button. the existing standard file dialog will disappear
and another one appears, asking for a file name. Enter "Bob.mail" in
the file name field and click the "Save" button. The standard file
dialog will disappear leaving you back at the "Edit User" dialog.
Click "OK" to close the dialog.
5] Once again, pull down the "Users" menu. Drag down to the
"Edit User" submenu and select the user "bob". The "Edit User" dialog
will open.
6] Click on the button labelled "Update Eudora Settings" - a standard file
dialog will open - using this dialog navigate into your System folder
and then into the folder you will find in the system folder called
"Eudora Folder". In there you will find a file called "Eudora Settings"
- double-click its name in the dialog window list and the standard file
dialog will close. Click "OK" to close the "Edit User" dialog.
7] Quit AddMail.
8] Launch Eudora.
9] Open the "Settings"/"Configuration" dialog again. What does the
POP3 account field say now? Click "Cancel" to close the dialog.

OK, now this is a very important question. That alias, is it an alias
to Eudora (the application) or is it an alias to a Eudora settings
file. Do a "Get Info" on it and click the "Find Original" button.
When the original has appeared, do another get info to check whether
you have an application or a settings file.
By the way, *Don't* do a "Check Mail" in Eudora while AddMail is
receiving mail. This may well cause problems.
Post your replies and I'll get back to you.
Regards,
-Alan.
