1.  You need to get the Open Transport 1.0.7 patch available at:

<ftp://ftp.support.apple.com//pub/apple_sw_updates/US/mac/Networking %26
Communications/Other N%26C Software/Open_Transport_1.0.7_Patch.hqx>

2.  And MacPPP2.1.2SD at:

<ftp://mirrors.aol.com//pub/info-mac/_Communication/tcp/mac-ppp-212sd.hqx>

3.  Turn off Virtual Memory

4.  Turn on AppleTalk

These four steps have solved *all* of my crashes and problems on my 7500.
