Given the vast # of reports of problems of varying natures with varying
applications and OT, what "needs" to be done is that Apple needs to fix
OT.

As best I can tell from looking at packet dumps and talking to the OT
engineers, Rick Watson (MacSLIP), and others, OT has a bug in its mdev
handling code.  It doesn't seem to reliably support multiple-WDS sends.

Eudora makes a PERFECTLY reasonable and ABSOLUTLELY legal call, and OT
hands a bad packet (the byte count shows all of Eudora's data, but some
of the data is actually not there) to the SLIP/PPP mdev.

All this voodoo about message sizes and appletalk probably is just
perturbing the situation enough to placate the bug sometimes.

Apple needs to fix it.

In the meantime, SLIP/PPP users should stick to MacTCP.
