I have been using NewsHopper demo for a couple of months now, and it seems
very crash prone. The crashes mainly occur when downloading articles, but
have also happened several times whilst getting headers and once when
reading news.

The crashes produce a variety of effects; usually NewsHopper just freezes
but sometimes I get a "Type 1 error". If I try try using other internet
programs after a "Type 1 error" they work properly except they can't
transfer any data.

I have tried reinstalling NewsHopper 1.0.1 with earlier versions but the
crashes still happen. I have also tried reintalling MacTCP and MacPPP.

All of the above isn't as important as the fact that when the crash
happens I LOSE any headers or articles I have just downloaded. They simply
disappear from the datafile. When I open a datafile after such a crash it
takes a lot longer than usual. I presume its going through the "Compact"
or "Purge" function in the program, unfortunately it's deleting
information I want.

All help would be greatly appreciated as I have tried everything I can
think of and it wouldn't be worth buying the full version if the same
thing were to happen.
