During a download, the article names are shown in the "NewsFetcher" window. If a crash occurs, the downloaded articles AND their headers VANISH from the datafile. Usually, the remaining marked headers are unaffected. The crashes seem to become more frequent as the datafile gets larger but they have happened even with fresh datafiles. Also 99% of them occur during downloading (NewsHopper only ever crashed once when not online so its probably unrelated), this suggests a conflict between NewsHopper and MacTCP/MacPPP. The only thing I haven't tried reinstalling is my system, but I can't see how I can have a corrupt system as the only program that crashes with any regularity and predicatably is NewsHopper.
