Hi,

A followup to my own post, ha!

I got rid of some old files and increased the amount of disk space,
might just have been critical. Over the weekend I installed my
new-to-me G3 (it flies, more than twice the speed of my old 8200). I
thought this will fix it.

Tonight (Monday) its like shovelling treacle! :-(

I changed from the G5 ISDN line, to the G4, to the standard line...

On the standard line, it flew!!!

So it is definitely Demons capacity I am fighting. The standard line
must be lightly loaded. I got 7 pages of BBC News plus weather
downloaded in 5mins! I fought for 8mins on the G5 line and gave up after
only three pages.
