sorry for the cross post!
Not realy on topic here

I'm looking for a program that will run as a sevice, and transparenlty
cache all http requests, with a minimum of checking of the sorce.
Any ideas?

( guess it's time to fire the old box up with linux and end all this
hastle.)

I have moved my ie4 cache to a drive of it's own (340mb ntfs) so I can
store a large amount of stuff that I look at and have set it to never
expire.

I HAD got over 170mb in there, until the new year, at which point
something decided to wipe my reference library! Every object except
cookies that had an access date in 1998 was removed.

What its not-
no software installs or removals- haven't done anything like that for
at least 3-4weeks.
not reboot event this is a 24/7 box and hasn't been restarted for over
2weeks (change graphics drivers)
nobody else touches it and the house was empty when it happened!
not loged out or anything else
