I have a W2k Adv Server, running Wingate 4.2, to provide access to Demon for
2-3 pc's in the house.

I have an intermittent problem. After working fine for 7 days, today, I
start getting error code 800ccc0f when accessing news & e-mail from Outlook
Express.

I have been tweaking all sort of settings on the clients & server to try and
stop this problem, but it wouldn't go away. (I was led to believe that W2k
didn't handle PPPoE very well and that I should look at MTU settings, but I
couldn't find anything wrong).

The last resort was to switch to another ISP to see what happened. So I
connected to freeserve, and bugger me, it all started working fine.

As the problem was intermittent, I started to think that it may be down to
some marginal time out issue, or loading problem.

Does anybody have any idea where I should look to resolve this kind of
problem..?
