MS Exchange ETRN Roted Access

Hi
I have a exchange server 5.5 SP4 using a dial up on demand ( ISDN) router
for users on the LAN for Internet access and email.
Its configured so that when an email is queued , the router picks up the
line and sends it emmediately.
Internet access works fine.
The problem is downloading new mail.
When the connection is made , I need to send a command to the demon servers
to tell it to start downloading.
I understand that you can either add an entry to the registry ( always send
ETRN) and some ISP support this and this cues the download. It appears that
Demon doesn't support this service. I have also tried using another utlity
called sendmail , but to no avail.

Can anyone offer any suggestions ??

Thank you

John,

I have a FAQ on Exchange and Demon on my homepage, at:
  http://www.southdown.co.uk/users/jgrieve

I suspect the answer does not lie in why Demon aren't starting the send,
rather the topic at the end of the article concerning routers...

Jon

Thanks for the FAQ they were very helpful in understanding the problem.
My router is a 3com RAS1500 , ( its very new) , I don't suppose that you
have any tailored set up deatils for this particular router .???

Many Thanks ( and great site !!)

John
