Dear all, as the subject says, does anybody here use Changi with Demon? The reason I ask, is that every couple of days, my news downloads are going up to 1 to 2k. Normally I'm getting 5/600 a day. I suspect there's some renumbering of articles going on at Demon. Or some similar type shennanigans! So before I start delving, has any other Changi user got this problem with Demon? Well, at least one doesn't. I do have occasional missing posts, evidenced by people replying to postings I have not seen, but I have no duplicates. I use -mx

I call chanx with: chanx -mt -ld -dp news.demon.co.uk >> e:\changi\batch.new Then post the resultant batch.new once offline, the reason for this is historic in that I wanted to process the news batch with other programs as well as changi. -- Cheers newspam@nexus.demon.co.uk Dave. (far too much I know but I browse a lot of different group!!) However somedays (it happened again this morning) this goes up to about 2,0000 messages. Why this is so I do not know. Plus I know that a lot of these are duplicates, because when I expire them, it expires more messages than it scans!! >> So before I start delving, has any other Changi user got this >> problem with Demon? > >Not that I have noticed. I used to do this, but found if the line was dropped, and In-joy redialled, when it restarted the rnews batch file, it lost all the original news!!! Something wrong with your history file? Are you expiring with to short a time? Rnews should report "435 Got It" or something similar for dupes that the history file doesn't catch. > I used to do this, but found if the line was dropped, and In-joy > redialled, when it restarted the rnews batch file, it lost all the > original news!!!
