fdisk "partition corrupt"

Anyone have any ideas why WARP 4 fdisk will not look at a new IBM
Deskstar 6.4G drive (in a PC/750)? Running fdisk gives "warning -
partition information on disk2 may be corrupt". Windoze will happily
look at hit and format 3 x 2047M partitions, but WARP fdisk still just
says "corrupt" (?)

Suggestions gratefully accepted ...

Seen this one. Some drivers wobble when asked to access the partition
tables, had exactly the same problem when I added a 3.2G SCSI drive to
a system with one IDE.

Solution, make a set of utility disks, or use the first few floppies
from the install set, and run fdisk from there.

This makes fdisk go through the BIOS on the scsi card, as the SCSI
driver isn't on the utility disks, and everything works.

What you need to do is this:

Download the self-extracting file IDEDASD.EXE and update the installation
diskette 1 with the new drivers for IDE-Harddisks >4,3 GB.

If you do, be sure to add the line SET COPYFROMFLOPPY=1 to the CONFIG.SYS file
on the installation diskette 1. This ensures that Warp does not use the old
drivers from cd.

The drivers are available at:

http://service.software.ibm.com/os2ddpak/index.htm
