Connecting PalmPC to Demon

Hi all,

I'm trying to connect my Nino CE to Demon - get as far as the Demon
Login screen - I can enter my user, password and protocol ok, and get
the demon "HELLO".

However, clicking on OK, just results in a long wait, and then a
disconnection - so I'm obviously not connecting correctly.

In my connection settings, I am specifying that my IP address is
provided by the server - should I be setting this explicitly ?

I've trawled through the Web and some other newsgroups, but nothing
seems to shed much light - maybe I've not found the right one ?

Any help much appreciated.

Has Demon give you a static IP address? If so, yes. If not, no.
It's possible Demon just isn't compatible. What do their tech
support people say?

Demon use fixed IP addresses.

Dial up using a terminal emulator.

Enter Hostname
Enter Password
Enter PPP

Your IP address will then appear at the top of the screen.

Note this number and disconnect.

Hi there Andrew,

Thanks for that information - that was basically how I was doing
it...I dial, get the demon login screen, enter user, password and
protocol, get the HELLO, and then click on "OK".

I wait, and after about 60 seconds, I get a dialog box saying
"Disconnected".

Any ideas ??

cheers

anu
