Is anybody out there using Psimail internet with Demon ? I have it working successfully if I dial the Energis ROMP, but it won't connect to the Green ROMP. It goes all through the script but PPP appears not to start up correctly. I'd be interested in swapping ideas with somebody...... can you turn any logging up to full and post the resulting text
also, are you actually using a script ? or PAP ?

It's referred to as a script within the Psimail software. Further info:- I can connect OK to the Purple, Red and Energis ROMP's but not to the Green. I emailed the helpdesk today and they told me the Green is using 3com, rather than Ascend. They basically told me not to use it, as it wasn't compatible with my modem/driver ! I'd still like to get to the bottom of it, if possible. I'll see what I can do with logging, and let you know. what is needed is to know the contents of these packets (25-34)

Hi Richard
OK, you asked for it ! Please see below. The Psion doesn't seem to have any
capability to log the packet contents, so I used an external protocol analyser
program.
The outgoing and incoming data were logged from two separate attempts, so might
not match up exactly.
I've been trying to interpret the data, but this is my first experience of PPP !
As far as I can see the POP is NAK'ing the 6-octet config option 02 06 FF FF FF
FF that's part of my config request ? According to RFC1340 this is an async
control character map, but I havn't got any further than that !
Cheers - Pete

yes - the Psion wants 00000000 and is told to use FFFFFFFF and doesn't
