"Save password" greyed out - again!

Oh dear!
I know that this subject has been covered ad infinitum in the
past. But I seem to have lost the info.
Had to rebuild my system (see other threads). Now everything is
fine except that in my "Logon to Demon" connectoid, the "save
password" box is greyed out. It didn't used to be. I think I've got
all the settings correct - Windows logon etc. What do I have to
change where to save me putting in my password every time?
Win95b, single-user stand-alone m/c. No MSIE4/5. Y2k updated.

There are a vast number of reasons why Win95 forgets passwords. If you
have Windows logon client sorted out correctly, check if you have an old
version of DUN. If so, you may need to reinstall the scripting tool.
Otherwise the Windows annoyances site will give you a number of other
reasons why passwords may be forgotten. The following URL is a bit old -
a google search on "Windows Annoyances" will doubtless find it if it is
wrong:

There also several articles in the MS Knowledge Base dealing with this
problem.

Re the greyed-out remember-password field:
Thanks, Terry. But as I was driving along the motorway, it
suddenly struck me that I had forgotten to include "Client for
Microsoft Networks"!
I've had a terrible time trying to rebuild Win95 - see other
thread - but once done, then its memory has come back.
Thank goodness.
But is there any way you can add this client in Control-Panel
Windows Setup? It should not be necessary to go through a whole
Win95 re-install.

Ugh! Following up my own post again .....
On Wednesday, in article

And of course, it isn't. You do it in CP -> Network. But why?

PS: The computer (Cx 6x86/P133+) went feet-in-air shortly after.
Looks completely terminal - no even a proper bleep, and nothing
happening at all. So that could indicate that not all the trouble
I've had recently was software. Now soldiering on an old AST 486/50
till I decide what to do about it ..... (First one I've met with
only a single SIMM-slot; need to get hold of a single 32Mb FPM SIMM,
because with 16Mb plus the 4Mb that it has on the mobo, Win95b sort
of crawls .....)
