I know this is off topic, but I do not subscribe to any appropriate newsgroups. Just a simple question. I have ditched all my old DOS manuals, and I need the command/code to remove the 'read-only' attributes from some files that have been copied from CD-R. There is an ATTRIB DOS command but I do not remember the syntax. Can anyone help - or suggest some other method that could be run as a batch file. Many thanks. -- Les Desser Send email to:-->> Les@dessergroup.com

Specifics snipped.
You could do worse than retrieve the old DOS help-files and set
them up somewhere (I keep mine in OLDMSDOS); then set a shortcut to
them. The information is a bit terse, but useable. Remember that
you need to have BASIC loaded to run the system.

In a dos window, type "attrib /?" Using the windows explorer, select the file(s), then right click and look at the properties.
