I know very little about PHP, but my new textbook says that I can install an engine called Zend onto a computer to test and run scripts. Is it possible to install something like this Demon's commercial servers? Or are Demon the only people who could do it? I gather that the servers only come set-up to run Perl, and one scripting language seems more than enough to learn at the moment. -- http://www.veganline.com - John Robertson - john@musonix.demon.co.uk Freepost LON 10506, London SW14 1YY 0800 458 4442 *new fax number* 0870 1600 848

I think not.

Yes; but they've shown a marked reluctance to provide, let alone support,
any other CGI facility.

Sadly, Demon seem to have no interest in providing any other scripting
language(s) on the Commercial Web Servers. Many would like PHP (which is
streets ahead of Perl in comprehensibility); I personally would like
IBM's Object REXX (which is available as a free download for the platform
upon which the servers run) and is a VERY powerful and portable scripting
language. Instead, we're stuck with the antediluvian and arcane Perl.
How about server-side Java, for that matter?
