In Keegan's sentence, "then again, hypocrisy is an improvement 
for you, imo" it is entirely correct for me to understand that he 
was calling me "Imo", which is not much of a distortion of my 
actual name.  

If Keegan had meant an acronym, he should have distinguished it 
by capitalising all the letters.  He normally fails to capitalise 
the initial letter of names, so lack of an initial capital was 
consistent with it being a name.  Taken as a name, he has failed 
to capitalise one letter; taken as an acronym, he would have 
failed to have capitalised three letters.  Therefore, the name 
interpretation is correct, as it has the fewest errors.
