Forgive me if this is an inappropriate group for this question. I am looking for ways of implementing NFS between two different locations on the Internet in a secure fashion. We have a site in London and a site in the USA. Currently we are using secure shell (ssh) for login and file transfer, and the firewall toolkit for controlling tcp port access etc. We would love to be able to NFS mount filesystems, but this must be done in a secure way that will foil the usual attack mechanisms. I am not so bothered about packet encryption, but access authorisation control and protection from name/ip spoofing is desired.
