I'd missed the recent changes to the homepages service, and just found out
about them. Probably the delay in finding out was a good thing, because I
missed the hassle that others had in the early days.

My experience so far has been positive:

1) the speed of serving of my web pages has improved dramatically.
2) the speed of response of the ftp server also seems better.
3) the control panel login worked fine with my dialup password
4) my site was near size quota before, but hasn't grown much in the move
5) the new homepages server honours .htaccess files! Finally, I can redirect
people elsewhere if I move a (non-html) file to another web site!

A couple of questions.
1) is it safe to delete the docroot.old folder?
2) there is a file in docroot called delorie.htm which I didn't create - is
it safe to delete that also?
3) Were other people sent a warning email about the changes - I don't
remember seeing one?
