I've just got one of the 4+ GB SCSI versions, and am getting abysmal performance out of it (in reality and testing with Diskspeed). It's much slower than the very old IDE drive I've got. SCSISpeed OTOH gives a nice high transfer rate (several times the IDE), the big difference is that the IDE comes close to performing at the rates SCSISpeed indicates it's capable of, whereas the Quantum doesn't. I'm using cysbsci v8.1 ROM, lots of memory on the CS, none on the motherboard ATM. Buffers, maxtransfer, mask etc are the same for both, I don't get data corruption errors and CheckMask reckons it's ok). Anyone got any ideas why? Or even better anything I can do about it. -- <URL:http://www.pierrot.co.uk/> Team AMIGA Massachusetts has the best politicians money can buy.
