Wondered if one of you technical Amigans might be able to help me out here. I have a A3000 in a tower with a SCSI-2 Hard drive and a SCSI-1 controlling chip on the board. I know replacements for these do not exist so thats ruled out (or is it?). The problem is I keep getting checksum errors when reading from the HD or even writing when more than one program is accessing the drive. I have cured it to some effect by reducing the Max Transfer Rate in the Partition drive option of HDToolBox to about $DFFFFFF (roughly - only the 1st char was changed). So, does anyone know what value I can set the Max Transfer to totally alleviate these problems. All help is appreciated. Mark.

NB that if you've copied stuff to the drive whilst the values were incorrectly set then the data may be corrupt. > So, does anyone know what value I can set the Max Transfer to totally > alleviate > these problems. I have since put them in and all works fine, well no errors yet anyway. Whenever I had one of these errors I would run DiskSalv against it and remove the corrupt file - luckily I keep backups. Take it easy, Mark.
