Problems/Questions OS3.5 Fast File System upgrade from
43.20 (>4gig Beta) to 45.1 (OS3.5)using HDToolBox (Ver: 44.18).
Last year (or two) I added 4.3 gig hard drives to my Amiga and
found I needed FFS ver: 43.20 (beta) to use them. I use a GVP
'030 Combo board with GuruROM and Omniscsi.device.
I have purchased and installed OS 3.5 and need to upgrade the
version of Fast File System on my hard drives. I am using the
HDToolBox (ver: 44.18) from OS 3.5 and took the following steps:
01. selected HDToolbox and it found my two 4.3 gig drives.
02. selected first drive.
03. selected Partition Drive. it shows File System as
FastFileSystem.
04. selected Add/Update and it shows only 0x44F5301
ver: 43.20 FastFileSystem.
05. selected Add New File System it gives me a list of file
systems available for use.
06. selected FastFileSystem in L:
07. selected Load to load it.
08. highlited 0x43465300 ver: 45.1 L:FastFileSystem
[ Custom File System
09. selected Update File System
10. highlited FastFileSystem in L:
11. selected OK
12. selected OK
13. selected Save
14. selected HDToolbox and it found my two 4.3 gig drives.
15. selected first drive.
16. selected Partition Drive. it shows File System as
FastFileSystem.
17. selected Change. shows File System: standard file system.
FastFileSystem is checked. identifier is greyed out and
shows 0x444F5301 which is ver: 43.20
18. when I do Select File System and step through it I see
CFS\00 shows 0x43465300 as greyed out. this is the right
code for ver: 45.1 , but I am not sure enough to go ahead
and select it!!!
Please if some one has done this, e-mail me and let me know.
