Make sure you DO NOT use a serial cable when attempting to use LocalTalk with the printer. While this will work from Mac to Mac it doesn't with the DeskWriters. The reason is that the DWs use the presence of the PhoneNet adapter to determine whether to boot up as LT printer or as a serial printer. For this reason you must have the PhoneNet adapter plugged in when you power up the printer. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting cmartin@pacbell.net "Another designated driver on the Information Super Highway"
