Just to let everyone know, I've sorted out the problem. For some reason, the "No INITs" bit of lots of my Control Panels and Extensions had been flipped to ON. Apparently this can happen due to a weird crash. I basically needed to turn off the "No Inits" bit in the extensions and control panels which weren't showing up. This can be done using Get File/Folder InfoοΏ½ in ResEdit, or by using a utility like Snitch or Drop*Info which allow the various settings, type and creator values etc. of files to be easily changed. Apparently, it doesn't matter if I turn off the "No Inits" bit on ALL of them. As the system runs them the next boot, it will turn the bit on for those that should have it on. I got this answer from the SYSOP on the Mac New Users/Help forum on CompuServe. Thanks for all your help, Howell Parry. -- ******************************************************************** Howell Parry, Ascent Systems Software Ltd.
