Some friends in an expanding non-profit organisation run an office with 8 Macs (LCII, LCII, LC475, powerbook). They are currently using an appletalk network for file-sharing and print services, which has now begun to grind to a halt from lack of bandwidth. An upgrade to Ethernet seems sensible, as does getting a file-server, which could possibly double as a mail-server and fax-server. I have in the past provided the necessary assistance myself, but I don't have either the time or the knowledge of Mac ethernet to help choose between the various options and assist with configuration. Does anyone know of a supplier or consultant in the London area who could provide advice and supervise installation at a reasonable cost (i.e. not 500 pounds a day, as some ppl charge)? The outfit concerned is a non-profit group, so they do not want to pay fancy high prices. Any suggestions welcomed -- replies by e-mail if possible. -- | Philip McNab // philip@siberia.demon.co.uk |
