To boot off the CD hold down the letter "C".

Also, check the fan on the PSU, there is a thermal cutout which can stop the
machine - you might have to do something imaginitive like slide the unit
half way off the table and look up at the fan (it's underneath) to see if it
is spinning.

Also a possibility that you have static zapped something. Disconnect
everything surplus just to be sure (floppy, L2 cache, external SCSI, if
you're using the CD then even disconnect the HD, also remove the RAM)

Do you get the normal chimes? If yes, then logic and memory is likely to be
OK. Do you have a boot floppy, I made one up with a defrag utility a while
ago.

Please help...

I have a Power Mac 6100/66. I just had my power supply repaired and was
firing
the machine back up and all went well. I also just bought a bigger HD, and
had
not yet installed it so I started copying the HD of my machine to my Jazz
drive
so they would be backed up...well the machine appeared to be locked up, so I
did a restart. using the keyboard command. Now..when the machine started to
come back up...my monitor was still working, but I never saw anything..not
even
the little mac pic that comes up...I have tried rebooting many times,
rebuilding the desktop, zapping the PRAM. The one thing I havent done is
start
up off the CD ROM....do you know the keyboard command to do this, as I
forget..I dont know if that will work. Im confused..it was working and after
a
restart, no more video.. I dont even hear the HD keep spinning after the
initial spinning.

Please help..Dave Miller dmille9878@aol.com Thanks
