Dear Friends -- Newbie here. I have a Mac LCIII, and a modem I liberated from my last job in corporate America. 2400 baud. Think, The Little Modem that Could (I _think_ I can, I _think_ I can, I _think_ I can. . .) Think, Fred Flintstone. Anyway, I've acquired a 28.8k modem from a friend, and am having trouble getting it to work with the Mac. The configuration "help" file tells me I need a "Hardware Handshaking" cable for anything faster than 9600 bps. Does anyone here know anything about this? I don't specially want to go out and buy a cable if it's really a software problem, and vice versa. Thanks! Bin: "Use less stuff!" --The Use Less Stuff Consortium
