Pieter,

I bought a 850Mb Quantum Trailblazer that would not format with the
Apple HD Setup. I bought MacPeak's "Spot On" for 10 UK pounds. It worked
OK.

I got it from MacLine in the UK. The old company has gone. The only
reference I have is http://www.macline.ltd.uk/ . It worked about a month
back. You will have to ask them if they still sell it.

Depending on what your MacOS version is there is an old patch for
Apple's HD Setup 7.2.2. This allows it to work with non-Apple HDs. I
can't remember where I got it. I can email it if you need it. Of course
you may need the above version too, which may not work with HDs over
2GB. Sorry but I have not tried it, as yet. It does not patch my old
version of HD Setup, as it is more recent.

Good luck!

There's a patch available for HD SC Setup 7.3.5 which you can (or at
least should be able to find unless they've got rid of it) at info-mac;
7.3.5 is the last version of HD SC Setup and you can download it from
Apple.

Failing that, you might try Lido. I think this url might help a bit:

For God's sake, Philip, never *ever* post a 116k binary to a Demon news
group.

First and foremost, it is against the charter of *every* Demon group to
post binaries of any size. Just don't do it.

If you want to send someone a binary, ask them if they're willing to
receive it and then attach it to an email; don't force every other
newsgroup reader to download it, then clutter up every server that carried
the demon.* groups for a week or two.

Just *think*.

Fancy meeting you here! I'm usually on uk.comp.sys.mac and follow the
antics there with interest. Today, however, I'm with you! ;-)
