However, they proved that it was a single ROMP (that which supplies the surftime numbers) which I had problems with. Went to Staples and bought a 3com on 16-day moneyback guarantee. (Figured I could take it back if it didn't fix the problem). It worked a treat, and has done ever since. I made a vow that day to avoid generic hardware at all costs.
