Possibly because this doesn't like negotiating with 3Coms? Opposite happened to me, the Pace internal gave 100% solid connects with Netcom's 3Coms at 48000 average, and is now giving an average of 49333 on the Green Romp (though with occasional glitches of connect but no logon or logon and no routing). OTOH negotiations jammed about 30% of the time to Ascends, needing a noise on the line to force completion, average 46667 with some connections refusing to go above 21600. *If* it's a compatibility issue, keep an eye on their website or email LASAT support, a fix may appear. I'm considering *all* V90 code, either on user modems or ISP racks, to be in a late beta stage at present, it mostly works but for some exceptions. Is it going through a complete negotiation? The 3Com and Ascend tones are similar but different, especially around the twang-pyoinggg bit, but very different from a V34+ only negotiation.
