I don't know of any software incompatibilities. The actual instructiona are, AFAIR, 386 rather than 486; this just means that timings are not the same as on an Intel 486 DX2/66. I've only used it with one or two network cards, but wouldn't anticipate trouble. Not tried Linux but don't anticipate trouble. The only hardware point is that 30-pin SIMMs are used in pairs, not in quadruplets. So no, you can't add ONE more. You can add TWO more. They must be matched by size in pairs; you can have 4+4+1+1. I was asked about scrapping one of these machines so as to run MS Internet Explorer 5. I recommended trying IE5 on the Blue Lightning; it worked fine. Not directly relevant to your situation, just confirming that it works fine with fairly demading software such as Win95, IE5. HTH, -- Michael Salem
